Stop iPod Shuffle from Syncing Automatically with iTunes

My MacBook always asks me to sync my iPod Shuffle with my iTunes playlist everytime I connect it. How do I stop this prompt?

Stop iPod Shuffle from Syncing Automatically with iTunes

First, download or update to the latest iTunes software so that you can get the latest updates and bug fixes. Then in iTunes, connect your device and do an update to your iPod Shuffle so that you could get the latest and improvements and bug fixes to the device.

To stop automatic syncing, while iTunes is still open go to Edit then click Preferences. Under the Devices tab in the Preferences window, there is an option there "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically".

You tick that option to disable automatic sync. Then click OK to save the changes.

To check if it works, disconnect the device and close iTunes. Then connect your iPod Shuffle and see if iTunes automatically opens. Hope this helps
