I’m having trouble adding custom search provider on Internet Explorer 8. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate PC. I tried to do it in a way that I know but still I’m getting the default search provider. Can you please help me on how to customize it?
Problem adding Custom Search Provider on IE8
Hi Noah
Some websites without your permission change your homepage to theirs. No matter how many times you change your homepage, it will be changed back to it whenever you visit the website. Now I will be showing a tweak to make a permanent homepage.
-
Right click on Internet Explorer on your desktop and click properties
-
You will see the location of Internet Explorer in the target box, next to that after the quotation mark type the URL of the website you want as homepage.
You are done. Internet Explorer will now open with your preferred webpage all the time.
Problem adding Custom Search Provider on IE8
Hello Noah Powell,
To add or change search provider please follow the steps below:
1. Open your Internet Explorer 8.
2. Click on the built-in search box, at the top right of the web browser.
3. Click on the "Find More Providers".
4. Add search provider by adding URL and name of the search provider you want.
5. If you want to set the search provider as default click "Manage Search Providers".
6. Then click the search provider you want to set as default and click "Set as default", click "Close".
Hope this will solve your problem.
Have a great day.
Paul Jolie.
