Hi guys. I'm in search of a free document imaging solution that can scan paper documents and convert them to TIFF or MDI digital images. Can someone suggest a free software for this? I'm on Windows XP 64 bit. Thanks.
Can someone suggest a free document imaging solution software?
Hello Sean A Harwood,
You can use Jscan 1.1 it`s free and it`s very good.Â
JScan is tool for performing OCR and viewing document images. JScan is used primarily for MODI format and working with the Microsoft Office tools (download here). I hope this can help you.

Hi Sean
Try out Microsoft Office Document Imaging. I believe this is the best solution for your document imaging needs. Microsoft Office Documents Imaging scan paper documents and converts them to digital images that can be saved in TIFF or MDI formats. It's an open source software and hence you can try it out for free.
You can also try out OpenDocMan which can be downloaded at: http://www.opendocman.com/
