I have been trying to set a backup in iTunes for my iPhone 4.
I have already deleted all of the backups, but when I right-click on my iPhone, there was no option for a backup.
I was wondering if the data would be added automatically if I plug my iPhone?
My mother needs a phone for replacement, but only for call and text.
I have an iPhone 2G for her. Will the data plan be automatically billed if she inserts her sim card in the iPhone?
No backup process for iPhone 4
Hello Tissy,
There must a step that you are missing during the backup process and that is why you are unable to see the option for backup. Otherwise iPhone 4 offers backup option.
You have to note that the media files which you could have synced from your computer will not be backed up. You can only restore them by syncing with iTunes.
Use the following procedure to back your files on your iPhone 4:
I am assuming that you are using iCloud, and therefore it will supposedly back up the most important data on your iPhone automatically.
You need to enable Backup on your iPhone 4 and thereafter you will go to Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, and from there you can choose to run it on a daily basis as long as your device is either connected to the Internet over WiFi, or may be you have just connected it to a power source, or maybe the screen is locked.
You need to backup manually, you will just need to go to settings, and then choose icloud, and then choose the storage and backup option

Hi,
If you are using windows, manually look for this file: C:UsersusernameAppDataLocalApple ComputeriTunes
All you have to do is open the iTunes Preference file through an XML editor. Delete these set of files:
<key>DeviceBackupsDisabled</key>
<data>
dHJ1ZQ==
</data>
