Gyrocopter is a relatively a very new terminology for me and my friends. These days, on some or the other way, we are hearing about it. But it is still difficult to understand this technology. Is it a type of helicopter? If yes, then how is it different? Are they going to replace helicopters soon? Is it faster than helicopter? What type of fuel is used for it? Who invented this technology and for what purpose?
What is the concept of Gyrocopter?
Gyrocopter: Gyrocopter is a small, light single-seated autogiro. It looks like a helicopter. But working is completely different from helicopter. It has a spinning blade on the top. The movement of this blade is not because of power, but it is pushed around because of the forward movement of the aircraft. It is getting forward pushing through propeller on the back.
It is invented by the Spanish engineer Juan de la Cierva to create an aircraft that could fly safely with low speed. It is not faster than helicopter.
