Hi
Malware is a program or a file developed with the motive of doing harm. Hence, Malware includes computer viruses, spyware, Trojan Horse, certain types of adware and hijackers. Adware is a program that serves the purpose of displaying ads or generating pop-ups. All adware programs are not necessarily malware. There are many approved programs that display ads.
Malware is the other term used for “malicious software”. It is any application or file that causes damage to a user. Accordingly, malware includes Trojan horses, keyloggers, computer viruses, spyware, worms, and any type of malicious code that breaks into a computer. These are programs that collect information about the user without authorization.
These are programs explicitly designed to damage or gain access to a computer without the user knowing it. Generally, software or an application is considered malware based on the objective or intent of the creator rather than its real features. Malware creation is increasing because of the sheer volume of new types built every day and the enticement of money that can be made through organized internet crime.
Originally, malware was created as experiments and pranks. But in the long run, it led to vandalism and destruction of targeted computers. Nowadays, a large amount of malware is built for profit or to gain revenue by means of adware or forced advertising, spyware or the stealing of sensitive information, distribution of child pornography or email spam (zombie computers), or ransomware or the use of a program to extort money.
