I have a Yahoo email address which I normally use for my business purposes only. However, I want to use Microsoft Outlook for other purposes but every time I try opening it, I get a message telling me that I need a server. I don’t know what a server is and I would appreciate if someone can help me figure out this problem.Â
Install Outlook in pc but prompts that you need a server
Microsoft Outlook is a mail client that allows you to get your mail into your computer without going through a web based portal or access. Microsoft Outlook will then manage your emails and will allow you to view more than one email address in one software. This makes it all convenient for a user.

The server that the program is asking for most likely is for the mail servers of your Yahoo email account or the other accounts that you may have wanted to add to the emails list. Microsoft Outlook need the server information to be able to communicate with your email providers servers and to gain access to them so that it can retrieve your emails. Try and check your email provider for this information then have it entered into Microsoft Outlook.

Hi,
Using an email over internet is quite different from using it over ms outlook. This is the reason when you are trying to do so email client like ms outlook will require giving proper settings.
Actually to send and receive an email to servers are always needed. One is POP server and the other is SMTP. So once you are shifting your emails to ms outlook, you need to know these settings first. Otherwise you will never be able to connect.
