How to recover replaced word document for Mac OS X?

There is a big problem for me. I saved all my work in a folder in one partition and used the same name for folder in another partition. After some time I moved that folder from one partition to another and ignore warning message quickly. Later I came to know that previous documents of the folder had been replaced. I tried to undo changes but failed. I am much worried about it. Is there any way to recover replaced word document mac in the folder? Please give me any solution.

How to recover replaced word document for Mac OS X?

Hello

To recover your wanted word file follow these steps :

1 – By default word for mac saves all the auto recovery  files in the following folder location :HD/ Users/Username/Documents/Microsoft user data .

2 – To open the auto recovery make these steps :

– Close word for mac .

– On Go menu click home .

– O pen the document folder ,open Microsoft user data folder .

– Locate all the files that start with the word (Auto recovery save of ).

– For each file that match this , rename the file , then add the ( .doc) file name extension. 

I hope these steps will help you fixing your problem .

The document which is overwritten by a new folder also looses its address location to the new files. Doing undo sometimes saves you and reunites with the previous data. However, you tried doing undo but with no help. What you can do is download a data recovery Mac application on your OS X and install it to scan that partition. But keep this in mind, recovery of replaced files is not guaranteed with a recovery tool if the address location is completely overwritten. Still you can try as its is a hit-&-try method. Try Stellar Phoenix Mac data recovery or Recuva.
