When I opt for an irregular port instead of the standard ones in using my analog telephone adapter, will it reduce the danger to intruders? Are there expected problems that will occur? Can you cite some examples of ideal methods in ensuring the safety of communication?
Cite some examples of ideal methods in securing communication?
Hi Betchay
It is ok to change the port used for your communication as long as you change it to a free port. Also choose a port number that is close to the original port number so that it has the same priority. This technique is called port remapping and is an excellent way to protect against intruders.
However there still is a risk from cyberpunks as they can use certain agents that can get access to your computer and do their work for them. It might help them find the port number used for your communication. These agents are none other than Trojans, a type of virus. So you have to make sure you don't have one in your computer. Have a good ant-virus and keep it's definitions updated all the time. Be suspicious about files downloaded from the Internet that is not from a reputable site. Do a system wide scan regularly with your anti virus.
