Want to upgrade Os in laptop computers but error result
Hello Derek
Remember if you have changed any of your bios setting or not. If yes then please go back to your previous setting. You can also try with the default bios setting. The problem you have mentioned is only occurs when you change any bios setting and if the windows don't find any boot sector.
Now to upgrade to windows 7 . This would work.
If it never work then- Use a linux disk to format your total computer . then Try with the windows installation . This is sure to be working.
Make sure your Cd rom and Hard disk is working perfectly.

Want to upgrade Os in laptop computers but error result
NTdetect.com is a file used in boot sequence of Microsoft Windows based computers. This kind of error calls for recovery console which is got in most Operating system CDs and is applicable to older version.
For windows 7 we use system recovery
Startup Repair is located on the System Recovery Options menu, which is on the Windows 7 installation disc. Insert the installation disc. On reaching system recovery options, select startup repair, the startup repair will scan your computer for about 15 min or less and try to fix any problems.
If the problems will not be found click next there after click on restart and it will return to the windows 7 log on screen.
Note it may take up to 3 times for the system recovery to fully fix the startup problem, so keep trying for about 3-4 times.
You can also try other option under the system recovery options.
