Dell LCD Monitor suddenly stops working

I have a Dell LCD monitor of 17" flat screen. After starting windows it only shows a white blank screen I only see the mouse cursor. It works well when i use safe mode.

But   now my  monitor  does not  show display.

When I start up my PC  it is presented a dark monitor to me. But i  hear the sound while the program is running.

Now I need to know that it is a problem in the Hardware or Software.



My operating System is Windows XP.Motherboard:Intel.



I am thinking  going  to a mechanics to solve this problem .If anyone give me  any suggestion,

Hello Gladys Felix.

I encountered the same problem before. I think the problem is your screen resolution. It maybe changed to a higher resolution that your monitor cannot handle since you can still hear the windows login sound it only means that your still works.

Open your computer. while you computer boots up keep on pressing "F8" until this Windows Advanced Options Menu appears

and then choose VGA mode.  I hope this solves the problem

If you have a onboard VGA then disconnect the separate VGA and check whether it works or not. If it works, there is a problem in your VGA card. Uninstall the drivers of the VGA and reinstall them.  



Then reconnect the VGA card and start windows normally.



If the above solutions didn’t work reinstall your system.

Hi good day… these kind of problem due to the Video card problem and memory card problem.

To resolve this problem, replace your old video card and change new video card, check also the memory card and if you have extra memory card insert it to the memory Ram. And the problem is solve.
