Need help in eject tray forced Windows in vmfusion
Hi Terry A Henderson,
Thanks for raising a question which over the year face by many. Here, I tried to mention some standard stuff for ejecting the CD/DVD on MAC for VM Fusion.
Standard Process:
1. Press and hold the Eject key for longer time.
2. Right-click on the disc icon on the Desktop and click 'Eject' from the menu.
3. Drag the disc icon to the Trash.
4. Another option is to open the disk utility from applications>utilities and select the CD/DVD shown on the side bar & clicking the Eject at the top.
5. Using terminal command is another option. Again from applications>utilities open the terminal & type command: drutil eject & press enter on your keyboard
6. If the above process does not work use freeware solution like DiskEject to eject CD/DVD.Â
Hope any of these processes will solve your issue.
Thanks & Regards,
DBD

Hi there Terry A Henderson,
Â
Can you see the device properly in your Windows? If not, it is not mounted to your VMware Fusion and it's normal you can't eject it via the VMware as the VMware has no control over the device. Move the focus out of the VM window and use the regular way to eject the device in your MAC OSx.
Â
If the device is mounted, but cannot be ejected, you may be facing a bug and a simple workaround is to disconnect the device from the VM so the MAC can take control over it. You can  do that either by clicking on the CD icon in the status bar or using the menu – Virtual Machine – CD/DVD.
