Hi Experts,

I have been trying to import footage from the Canon VIXIA HF10 into Final Cut Pro software installed on my Desktop.

However an attempt to import the footage throws up an error that I have never seen earlier.

Warning

"canon test" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.

OK

Its says that Cannon Test contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure.

Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.

I have failed to interpret the above. Perhaps you can throw some light on the same.

Hi,

Footage from the Canon VIXIA HF10 files format or the extension name is unsupported media into Final Cut Pro software. Try to convert the media file that is supported by Final Cut Pro to avoid any warning errors, or if you have any alternative software use it that matches media for Canon VIXIA HF10 files format.

Best regards,

Heather marie

Before doing the import, make sure that the format of the source video or footage is supported by the program. Check first the file extension used by the source video if that file type is also supported by the application where you are doing the import. It seems that the program was unable to recognize the format of the source video when you did the import procedure. It’s clear here that the source footage is using a different file format which is not supported by your present program.

If this is the case here, convert first the source footage to a format that is supported by your application. You may also check your application for the file types it supports to have a better knowledge on the output format of the file.
