Hi,
I just downloaded a new game from Steam and tried to start playing but then I got this error message.Â
DXSETUP.exe – .NET Framework Initialization Error
Please set registry key HKLMSoftwareMicrosoft.NETFrameworkInstallRoot to point to the .NET Framework install location
I searched the internet and found out that .NET Framework isn’t set up properly. I searched on how to do this but couldn’t find any site that showed how to set this thing up.Â
Any expert from this forum who can teach me how?

Received an error while playing a game downloaded from Steam
Hallo Lukbanin,
It seems like for the game that you have installed to play successfully you need to have the .NET Framework application installed, which it seems you have not installed yet. And therefore the program is prompting you to follow that particular path to be able to download the .NET Framework and install it on your system.
But you can install the .NET Framework manually. You will just need to check your system specifications like which service pack is the system and then download the right version of the .NET Framework from the internet and then install it on your computer. See if your game will play after the installation.
Hope this helps.
