A number of things could have made your ipad malfunction e.g. you could have dropped it or a bad app could have affected its performance. The obvious remedy would be to perform a hard reboot on the device; this is done by holding down the on/off switch and the home  button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  If the "Slide  to power off" text appears, ignore it. However, beware that this does not remove any apps, music, movies nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.

The other option would be to connect the iPad to its syncing computer and go to the Summary pane of the iPad under devices.  Click on configure universal access;once there turn off any accessibility features. If none were on, first restore the iPod from backup and If the problem still persists, restore to factory defaults.

Try the following solutions:

1. Clean your iPad with a soft lint-free cloth.

2. Do not wet your hands. Moisture can affect your touchscreen behavior as it is affecting trackpad.

3. If you have a screen protector, try to remove it first. It may be preventing your touchscreen to work properly.

4. Turn your device on or off. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on your device and then run the slider when it appears. And then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

5. Try to reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and you're iPad's home button at the same time for few seconds until you see the Apple logo.

The iPhone’s screen or touchscreen is different from other Smartphone’s touchscreen because in iPhone, it uses biometric technology. This method senses electrical contact with the skin instead of pressure applied on the screen’s surface. And that’s the reason why the iPhone’s touchscreen can’t be calibrated like any other touchscreen phones do. When the iPhone’s touchscreen exhibits or shows signs of inaccuracies or inconsistencies, the problem is usually caused by an error in its operating system, not a calibration error.

Fixing this kind of problem simply means restoring the phone to its factory settings because this problem is often saved as part of the phone’s backup. This problem also happens on iPad and iPod touch and can be fixed the same way as with the iPhone.

To begin with the solution, you need to download and install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. When this is done, open the application then connect your device to your computer using its USB cable. The software will then detect the device and adds it on the Devices list. Next, select your device from the Devices list and then open the Summary tab. Click on Restore. Wait until the restoration is finished then select Set Up As New when you are prompted by iTunes.
