I have been using TotalMedia 4 for creating and watching Blu-ray HD home movies. I recently upgraded my 512 MB Nvidia Video Card to a 1 GB aTi Video Card and I am now on Windows 8 from Windows XP. The program now crashes when launched. Could this be an OS or Video card issue?

TotalMedia 4 crashes in Windows 8
That’s not an operating system issue but a compatibility issue with the program. If the program now crashes on Windows 8 and it works perfectly on Windows XP and it is the same version you are using, check that the program supports Windows 8. The crash is probably an indication that the application is not compatible with the new operating system.
Visit the website where you downloaded the program before and download the new version which should probably support Windows 8 or even Windows 10. On the other hand, if there is no new version and the available download is the same version as on your computer, try to uninstall and reinstall then run the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP.
Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select TotalMedia 4 among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then restart the computer.
After booting, install TotalMedia 4 back. Once installed, right-click the TotalMedia 4 icon on your desktop and select “Properties”. In the “Properties” window, go to “Compatibility” tab then under “Compatibility mode” section, check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” then select “Windows XP” from the dropdown list and then click “OK”.
