What the functionalities of a Cacti Ping Monitoring?

Hello! What are some of the Cacti ping monitoring capabilities? I have been using network magic for my network management and I wanted to move to something more robust. I was given a suggestion of using Cacti. Anyone with an idea what Cacti can do? Is it possible using both of them at the same time? Cheers!

What the functionalities of a Cacti Ping Monitoring?

Hi,

You can use CACTI to monitor internet connections. The best feature is that it can output in a graphed format. There is a separate PHP script which needs to be called by CACTI. You can download it here- https://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?p=173542#p173542

Hope you are doing well.

Cacti is a network graphing solution. It uses an RRD tool to store necessary information to create a real performance graph.  It polls fast and has advanced graph templating, multiple data acquisition methods and user management features. The RRD tool graphs functions are very limited in range.  3D option, Pie or Scatter charts lack in RRD tool. Using the latest version v0.8.8a may help. To create graphing latency the plugin https://forums.cacti.net/about10049.html  allows one against the router CPU.  The IPERF tool may be a good one for you it creates TCP and UDP data streams and measures between network performances as well as NetFlow Analyzer.
