Hello Friends,
I am using Windows XP on my computers and am very happy with that. But Microsoft has launched Windows 7 some years back.
So here, I would like to know when they are going to drop the support for the Windows XP. Where I feel I would need to make myself ready to go for windows 7. Is there anyone who is aware of that.

Question on Win XP when support will expire
The question has became a very common question, in all the places where the people who became more comfortable using the windows XP and who do not want to change to Windows Vista, because it stands more hard on the hardware and Windows 7. It's quite good than previous versions with good graphical and user interface capabilities. But since people are setup with XO they are not ready for a shift –out.
To answer your question on Microsoft Stopping its support for XP, may be in the year 2014. But it doesn't mean that all the users should stop using it. They just intend to end up the free supports like security updates. Microsoft cannot stop its customers from using the Windows XP, where they have paid for the Software. So my suggestion over here would be that, there is enough time for you to purchase and get Comfortable with Windows 7.
You can also go ahead and make your computer as a Dual Boot with Windows 7 and your existing Windows XP. But make sure that your computer solves all the hardware and space requirements for Maintaining Dual Operating system in your computer.
Now you have Windows XP in your computer. Once when you purchase the Windows 7, try to insert the disk and try to install it the normal way. But in a screen, it may ask you, to select whether to Upgrade the previous version or keep the existing OS. Select keep existing OS and also make sure while installing the Win 7 OS files to hard drive, you select a partition other than the one where you have installed the windows XP.
So I hope this may be the better option, where in the running world we may need to be get updated with the uptrend technologies.

Question on Win XP when support will expire
Microsoft Windows 7 is an operating system for personal computers developed by Microsoft and part of the Windows NT series of operating systems. Formerly codenamed “Blackcomb” and later “Vienna”, the operating system was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009 and was made available to the public on October 22, 2009. Its public release happened less than three years after Windows Vista was released.
Windows 7 shares many features with Windows Vista but there are also some unique ones and here they are:
- Action Center – this feature allows users to view the alerts Windows 7 can show. This is a nifty feature that will allow you to control those annoying messages but not disabling them.
- Aero Shake – with this feature, when you click and shake an open window, all other remaining windows on the desktop will minimize.
- Aero Snap – with this, when you drag a window to any side of the screen, the window will resize automatically.
- Windows Touch – this feature is designed to work with computers with touchscreen displays.
Microsoft Windows XP is an operating system for personal computers developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT series of operating systems. It was released to manufacturing on August 24, 2001 and released to the general public for retail sale on October 25, 2001. The extended support for this operating system ended on April 8, 2014.
After 12 years, support for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system ended on April 8, 2014. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for this operating system. Though the operating system will not cease to function, the platform will be more vulnerable to latest security threats.
That’s why it is recommended to upgrade your platform to a much newer version like Windows 7, Windows 8.x, or Windows 10.
