Not a COM32RImage Boot Error in Ubuntu

I am getting an error message: “Not a COM32R Image Boot” when trying to install Ubuntu 10.04 in a USB Flash Disk. I used Startup Disk Creator in Ubuntu Version 11.04 and followed all the steps provided in Ubuntu Install from USB page correctly, but still getting the same error message. What is the cause for this and how to fix it?

My suggestions are:

a. Change the USB creator software.

b. You could use the UNetbootin to boot and install Ubuntu from a USB device.

c. This problem is related to Syslinux. You may need to change some lines within syslinux or downgrade the Syslinux to the Lucid's version.

d. Sometimes the Syslinux is not booted properly and “Not a COM32R Image Boot” message is generated. In this case, type help in the boot prompt, you will get a boot help menu. Press Enter key and the PC will restart or start booting Ubuntu.

e. Press the Tab button then type "live". Press the enter key. The USB device should boot up.
