I recently installed an application on my computer but right after the upgrade, the application failed to start.
I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the said application until it prompted to restart. I decided to restart later.
After the last reinstallation, the application didn’t start.
When I have already rebooted the machine, this error popped up right after rebooting. I attached it below so you could easily identify the problem because I have no idea what is going on with my computer right now.
And I hope that someone can help me on it.

Ctor.dll Error: Application Failed to Start
Hi Zachary,
Causes of Ctor.dll Errors:
The issue may occur due to the removal or corruption of the ctor.dll file.
In some cases, ctor.dll errors due to a registry problem, a virus or malware issue or even a hardware failure.
Fixing of Ctor.dll Errors:Â
-
Please start Computer in Safe Mode to complete the following steps if you are unable to access Windows normally due to the ctor.dll error.
-
Restore ctor.dll from the Recycle Bin if you it is present. The easiest possible cause of a "missing" ctor.dll file error is that you've mistakenly deleted it. If it is not present in Recycle Bin, you may be able to recover ctor.dll with a free file recovery program.
Note:If you are confident you have deleted the file yourself and it was working properly before you did that then recover a deleted copy of ctor.dll with a file recovery program.
-
Run a Full virus/malware scan of your system.
-
You can do System Restore to the check point when the application was working properly.
-
Try to reinstall the program that uses the ctor.dll file. If the ctor.dll DLL error occurs when you use a particular program, reinstalling the program should replace the file.
-
Roll back a driver to a previously installed version if ctor.dll errors began after updating a particular hardware device's driver.
-
Run the sfc /scannow System File Checker command to replace a missing or corrupt copy of the ctor.dll file. If this DLL file is related to Microsoft, the System File Checker tool will restore it.
I hope these will resolve the issue.
