Upgrade to solidworks 2007 software

Hi guys,

I am currently using SolidWorks 2005 which is working fine, but I would like to upgrade to a newer version with more updated features that can aid me to become a better designer.

Will a newer version require me to upgrade my graphics card for a better experience?

Will it have features such as the ability to access SolidWorks explorer functions from windows explorer and the new expert tools? 

Please assist.

If you can please tell me how I can acquire a more recent version of this software preferably Solidworks 2007.

Yes, There’re newer versions of Solidworks. There’s Solidworks 2007, 2008 and 2009.

If you’re planning to upgrade to Solidworks 2007: you’ll need to be using XP professional (32-bit or 64-bit)
For Solidworks 2008 and 2009, you can use Vista or XP professional.

NOTE: None of Solidworks upgraded versions work with 2000 Professional.

Regarding the Computer and Software Requirements, you’ll need:

A RAM minimum of 512MB, 1GB is recommended for Solidworks 2007 (Solidworks 2009 requires 1GB and recommends 2GB RAM).

For Video:  You’ll just need A certified OpenGL workstation graphics card and driver. You can check out if the use works Here VIDEO CARD TESTING.

CPU:  Intel and AMD processors. But please, note that Apple Mac based machines DOES NOT support SolidWorks and eDrawings.

Other things That you might need are:

USB or parallel port required.
DVD drive. Minimum: CD drive.
Mouse or other pointing device.
Microsoft Excel 2002, 2003, or 2007.
Internet Explorer version 6.x or 7.x.
Adobe Acrobat version 7.0.7 or higher.
