How can I get Juniper terminal service on Mac working?

Hallo people!

I am having a problem getting Juniper terminal service on Mac with the information that the service is not supported on my computer. I am also not able to setup any connections from any other Mac Operating System computer. What could be the problem? I have followed the provided instructions but I cannot have it setup and functioning. Thanks in advance.

How can I get Juniper terminal service on Mac working?

Hi,

If this is the error you are getting:

Then this is the same as to what has happened to me before upon upgrading to the 6.0 OS.

Upon consulting that case I had with a Juniper Expert, found that the most commonly used and suggested by Juniper to fix this is to use a Java based TSC (Terminal Services Client) see here which helped me through.

You will need a few more things though:

• Provide a Terminal Services resource profile
• Must have Java support enabled
• Must identify and import the Java applet

You may find this Juniper KB helpful too. 

Some other users find this alternative better though. 

Give them a try and see which suits you best. Hope this helps.

Hi,

 

1. Juniper Network Connect application should be installed first.

 

2. When the session is not supported on Mac system for Juniper, you can try to set up a Java based Terminal.

One of the most recommended is ProperJava RDP, which is an open source client. It is built to be running at least on Java 1.1 or newer. It is built to be totally compatible and usable on Windows – Linux and MAC Operating Systems. Choose its latest release version, download and install on your OS in case Java based terminal is not set up.

Then choose a Terminal Service resource profile and activate the Java support.

 

When saying that cannot "setup connections" are you referring to a VPN connection between two MAC OS?

As per my experience it is not possible to have a VPN connection running from two different computers at the same time, in case they are both using the same credentials (username/password). Also you cannot run two different VPN connections at the same time between two machines.
