I have upgraded Windows NT to Windows 2003. The common factors of Windows NT are the Primary Domain Controller and Backup Domain Controllers. The rest is under Windows 2000 or 2003 representative hosts.
My concern is, as I am updating my NT website remotely to Windows 2003, do I have to perform other things with my Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 representative hosts which are from the NT website?
Upgrading Windows NT to Windows 2003
Here are some steps to help you solve the issue you are having when upgrading Windows NT to Windows Server 2003.
First of all, you will need to install the Windows NT Server 4.0, and during the installation you will have to make sure that you specify the options to make the new computer to be the backup domain controller.
Thereafter you will need to go to the Server Manager, and there you will need to promote the backup domain controller to a PDC.
You will need to ensure that there are no errors at all in the event logs and also make sure that the SAM replication is completing without a problem.
Thereafter you will upgrade the Windows NT to Windows Server 2003.
