Well I use Vista Home Premium on my new PC with 6GB of ddr RAM. I have been experiencing this error for a couple of weeks now and tomorrow I take off some time to fix this issue once and for all but as a last resort I am hoping the internet can provide me with something.
The error is that windows pops up with a message.
"HOST PROCESS FOR WINDOWS SERVICES STOPPED WORKING AND WAS CLOSED."
Now if there is any info that you can give me, which can solve my problem or can help me in removing this problem once and for all, tomorrow will be deeply appreciated.

Host process for windows services stopped
Hello
This problem you are having is normally associated with windows svchost.exe and a fault module name of rasmans.dll_unloaded. The exact reasons for this is unknown, but here is a workaround you can try to completely remove this error window.
-
Go and open up Task Scheduler.
-
Then, navigate to this location: Task Scheduler Library> Microsoft> Windows> RAC.
-
Now, from here find the View menu and then enable Show hidden tasks, a tick should appear beside it.
-
Find RACAgent and right click on it. Choose Disable so that its status will become disabled.
-
Restart your computer.
Alternatively, go to your device manager and try if you can find pcouffin.sys, uninstall it. Sometimes, this is caused by a conflict in hardware, make sure you check and see that there is no conflicts in your system.
Host process for windows services stopped
This message is normally thrown because of program compatibility between your operating system and a particular program running on your computer. This means the problem may not only refer to a single application but to one or more programs on your computer. The easiest way to fix it is to install the latest update for your operating system.
For Windows Vista, download and upgrade your operating system to Windows Vista Service Pack 2. This is the latest and last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows Vista. See if this fixes the problem. If this doesn’t fix it, you probably have a problem with BITS or the Background Intelligent Transfer Service Windows service.
If this problem started happening after updating your operating system, it is probably BITS causing it. This problem happens because the BITS state files are corrupt which stops the host process for Windows Services. This problem prevents you from transferring files using BITS. To fix this problem, you need to download and run a utility called “BITS Repair Tool”.
For 32-bit Microsoft Windows Vista, download BITS Repair Tool for 32-bit Windows Vista (KB940520). For 64-bit Microsoft Windows Vista, download BITS Repair Tool for 64-bit Windows Vista (KB940520). See if this fixes the problem.
