Is there a difference between MS Outlook and Outlook Express? If there is, how do you convert data from Outlook to Express and vice versa?

Difference and Conversion of Data in MS Outlook and Outlook Express

Outlook is an email client but also serves as a personal information manager. It can be used to view and managed Calendars, Contacts and Tasks. When used with Exchange server account, it can be used for group scheduling and sharing contacts.

Outlook Express is much more compatible with POP3 and IMAP compatible mail client. It is available for Windows XP via the Internet Explorer. It can be setup much simpler if you are just going to use for reading mails and accessing newsgroups. Proper configuration can be setup to retrieve your messages via POP3 and IMAP client.

Outlook and Outlook express can both receive emails from multiple email accounts set up on them.

Difference and Conversion of Data in MS Outlook and Outlook Express

For sure there are some differences between outlook and outlook express. For outlook express, it will be better to work with in the following cases.

• In the case where you need only Internet e-mail and the newsgroup functionality, and that is for Windows versions that are later than Microsoft Windows 95.
• Also in the case where you use or plan to use the Office 98 for Macintosh, and then you want to take advantage of the integrating Outlook Express with the mentioned Office suite.

As for Outlook it will be suitable if:

• You need advanced Internet standards-based e-mail and you also need the discussion group functionality.
• You want to use integrated personal calendars, the group scheduling and also contact management function.
• You need to use robust, integrated run-time and also design-time collaboration capabilities.
