Although portable Netbooks, Laptops and Tablet PCs are seems to be everywhere nowadays, but importance of desktop PCs can never be neglected. Most of the heavy Servers in field are desktop dependent. In 2011, desktop computers are used for variety of different tasks like graphic designing, simulations, and mostly for games as well.

Though laptops and mobile gadgets are so popular these days I still believe that desktop industries are not losing. A lot of people still uses desktop computers at home, in school for as an educational took, in offices and industries that can store large amount of data. There are so just so many things that a desktop computer can do compared to laptops.
Laptops have limitations as well. To name a few below are the advantages of desktop computers over laptops and notebooks:
As I see it, desktop is for power and laptop for mobility. So I don’t think we’re past the PC stage, and I don’t see that the desktop manufacturers are threatened. They might have a decrease on sales but they are still an alternative for a laptop and tablets. Manufacturers might probably support faster and high performance processors and improve their hardware designs.

I have arrived at the conclusion that the actual desktop market has been increasing and continues to do so. Yes, the mobile consumer market is or will be proportionally big in comparison but it is important to understand that the desktop market in not becoming smaller au contraire.
