I am tweaking on this real time defender inc file and I notice something on the windows explorer address bar. I notice that in the address bar, it is always showing ? instead of the local hard disk. For example, ?:System Volume Information instead of C:System Volume Information.
Does this “?” mean something? What does it stands for?
What does ? means in real time defender inc?
Hello Donal,
Yes, there is a reason behind this "?" showing before the directory. When the program sees the format type of the drive doesn't match the allocated type and not sure which type to choose. You should specify the format type from the program settings.
Hope this helps you.

Hello Donal Bambie,
You have nothing to worry as it’s a feature of Microsoft Windows. Whenever, there is some ambiguity between the Format (e.g NTFS or FAT32) and allocated type of the drive. To resolve this issue, you can give format type for the program you are going to run.
Good luck with your try.

That question mark (?) in the address bar normally appears in Microsoft Internet Explorer when you are trying to do a search. You can normally remove it by hitting Backspace to delete it. If this doesn’t work and the question mark returned, try this. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer then go to “Tools” and then “Manage add-ons”. In “Manage Add-ons” window, select “Search Providers” on the left pane.
At the bottom, uncheck “Search in Address Bar” then click “Close”. This should fix the problem. If you’re on Windows 7, updating to Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 removes the question mark from the address bar but you can still search or enter your search query from the address bar.
