Skype.exe – Application and MS Visual Studio Errors

My Skype software is acting weird for the past few days.

An application error will be shown when shutting down my computer.

The error is relating to a memory issue as shown below.

If I can be able to hit the OK button, the shutdown will continue but if not, I cannot shut down since the Skype is still active. But it happens only when I am using Skype for Video Calling. The problem seems to be getting worse. Now, I am receiving this error from Microsoft Visual Studio stating an Access Violation. How can I fix this?

The skype application may be corrupt, or it may be a temporary problem that needs that you refresh the skype application. I will therefore suggest that you close the skype application completely as follows:

  • Press Control+Alt+Del on your keyboard.
  • Click on task manager.
  • In the task manager window, you will need to click on the process tab.
  • Locate the processes run by skype and end them.

Once you have done that, restart the computer, and then locate the skype shortcut on the desktop and click on it to start it. You will need to make sure that you are connected to the internet before you start skype.
