Hello Tech Gurus,

I am using Windows Server 2003 Enterprise version for our organization. It is heavy loaded with SQL Database, for monitoring purpose I need a cpu realtime meter. The built in one is good but I am looking for more professional one. What tool are you guys using normally?

Hi James,

If you want to know how much work your CPU and RAM are doing you can check the task manager but this involves pressing many keys at once(Ctrl+Alt+delete). This may be cumbersome to do every now and then. There is another simpler way of monitoring CPU load using All CPU Meter. This is a free software and it is very effective in terms of showing you memory consumption and CPU usage. This is done in terms of percentages and values.

Advantages

1. Keeps real time track of CPU and memory usage

2. It is good for diagnosing CPU and memory problems

3. Easy  to use and very convenient

Disadvantage

It was designed for core processors.

You can download it here https://all-cpu-meter.en.softonic.com/?

You can also download CoreTemp software that will enable you to monitor CPU temperature. This way you will avoid overheating the processor.

Hi,
Personally, the best cpu real time meter is Rainmeter. It is a free program and you can download it from : https://www.rainmeter.net .
It is very easy and simple to use and it has many features:
1- Displays statistics for CPU, disk, memory, system temperature and more.
    2-You can download many themes.
    3-Very light on system resources.

Hi James Craigos,

I guess that you should not have any other processes other than your SQL because your SQL server is getting hard on itself, I would suggest and recommend to use your own TASK MANAGER in monitoring your CPU usage. To open it, you may right click the taskbar and click task manager, on keyboard hotkeys, you can do a ctrl + alt + delete. I am concerned about your SQL server's performance so it is the only thing that you can do to make your CPU usage utilized by your SQL server
