Dear Techyv members, I would like to know how to upgrade Apacer external HDD firmware effectively. What are the steps needed for this kind of upgrade? Please also include a quick overview for this and its key features. I would always look forward for your recommendations and solutions. Thank you.

How to upgrade apacer external hdd firmware effectively?

 

Hi,

To perform a firmware upgrade of your External HDD then you should perform the following.

1. Download the AL670 firmware. ( You will need the file "by23_27.0323.ap2p.Zip")

2. Extract this content and copy the "install.img" file to the HDD

3. Then go to the Apacer media center and select System from the setup menu

4. Select System Upgrade

5. After this process wait for the installation Firmware to finish. DO NOT UNPLUG THE HDD

At the end of this process you should see the new firmware on the system interrogation.
