Type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

Locate and then select the following registry subkey:

Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem
Hi,
First Login with your administrator user account. These types of problems can be of two types if:
1. Excel program itself unable to open or
2. Excel is unable to open some saved files
To solve first condition problem you should check the administrator rights for program.
Also check if parental controls are on or off. If excel is under parental control category and it's on then that may be the reason for your problem.
To solve second condition problem you should check the administrator rights for excel files you want to open. Follow these steps:
1. Right click on the file and select properties.
2. Go to security tab.
3. Click on windows username with which you trying to open the file. Check below if all permissions like (full control, read, write) are allowed if not
4. Click on edit and change them and apply.
Now you should be able to open excel. Hope it helps. Let us know how you get on!
