Recover data for Mac trial version

I am using Mac OS X, I was having a backup collection of my office related data in that, a few months back I permanently deleted those data from my system. I would like to have a recovery software, before buying the same, I would like to have a trial. Please advice me the best software that will recover data for Mac trial version.

Though is an old question and perhaps you would have find it solution. It would be great if you can share some of your feedback regarding your loss and possible recovery.  BTW did you tried any free recovery software for your Mac OS X?
