Can stellar JPEG repair fix corrupted compressed JPEG photo?

I have a folder that contains many photos saved in JPEG large file format that I thought to compress to reduce the total folder size so as to send by email. After deleting the original photos I tried to open the compressed photos but found that most of files got corrupted after compression, can I use stellar JPEG repair to fix corrupted files?
