Canon Pixma Mp610 scanner error

Hi,

I am using windows vista (32-bit) and I have a Canon pixma MP610. The scanner function has stopped working and showed an error message. The error is given below. Help me to find the solution for this problem.

Cannot communicate with scanner.

Cable may be disconnected or scanner may be turned off.

Check status.

Scanner drive will be closed.

Hello Violet,

The following two methods may help you resolve the issue that you are getting with your printer's scanner function:

• First try setting the computer to a clean boot state to allow it to check for software conflicts.

Canon Pixma Mp610 scanner error

Hi Violet,

If you've checked all cables are connected properly, your scanner still functions well, try uninstalling and reinstalling your Canon MP Navigator program. Check your computer properties' device manager and see to it that the scanner's port item doesn't have a warning sign.

Other than that, I highly recommend you switch your OS from VIsta into something more versatile like Windows XP or Windows 7. Vista has the reputation of being buggy, so try the other options.
