Can’t edit a file in COOL Webtop

Hello,

When I try to edit a file in COOL Webtop I get the following error message. I tried many times to resolve this error by searching but could not find the solution. I extremely need your help. Thanks.

 

 

The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions.

 

*Check the file permission for the document or drive.

 

*Use the File Open dialog box to locate the document.

Can’t edit a file in COOL Webtop

Hi there Christy E Olson,

 

The error says that your MS Word cannot access the document you are trying to use.

 

The first thing to do is to check if everything's ok with the file. Open the path where your file should be placed and see if it's there. Also, try opening it with Wordpad to see if it's corrupted. If the file is corrupted you can easily clean it up by opening it in notepad and removing funny characters.

 

If everything's ok with your file, the reason of the error can be either bad filename or insufficient permissions. Check the path and filename and remove any non-latin characters in both, folders and filename. When that part is done, right click the application icon and select the option Run as administrator. When the application launches, using the file – open menu finds the file and open it.
