Error in newdev.dll: Missing entry: ClientSideInstall

I am trying to install Epson Stylus C84 InkJet Printer, when I plugged in the USB cord for the printer, I received a newdev.dll error.

I downloaded newdev.dll and copy it in system32 folder but the error remains.

How can I fix this error?

Error in newdev.dll: Missing entry: ClientSideInstall

Hello,

Put the XP CD into the CD drive and then try the following:

Start > Run – then type in "expand X:i386newdev.dl C:WindowsSystem32newdev.dll" – without the quotes

[Where X=your CD Rom]

And the same is applicable for hotplug.dl, just put hotplug.dl instead of newdev.dl

Error in newdev.dll: Missing entry: ClientSideInstall

Put the Windows Xp (your OS) CD/DVD into the drive and try the this: 

"expand X:i386newdev.dl C:windowssystem32newdev.dll"
Ignoring the quotes NOTE [ X = your DVD Rom drive lable]

You may try a system restore to check if the issue is solved.
