To resolve the issue that you are getting, you will need to get rid of the temporary files on your computer and then after that you will need to run a checkdisk scan to see if it will be able to tell you what the error is:

To run Checkdisk do the following:

• On your computer, go to start, and then type cmd.
• After that you will need to right click on cmd, and then choose "Run as Administrator"
• After that you will need to type chkdsk /r /f and then hit enter
• Next you will type y, and then restart the Computer and let the check disk run.
• Once you have done that, you can then check the Norton internet Security.

Once you download the tool listed on the page, and remove Norton, you will prompted to reboot your computer.  It is possible that for whatever reason, the installation or a file that is part of the software has become corrupt, and reinstalling the software will fix the issue.
