Any idea on how to recover expired files from a TSM server

Any one with any idea on how to recover expired files from a TSM server, I have restored the server database to some point before the files got expired but still I couldn't recover the files.

Hello Aditya,

In the event that expiration as well as reclamation have run, then the pointers and the data is gone. But if the expiration have not run yet, you can restore the files.

In the event that  expiration has run but reclamation has not, then it is only the pointers in the TSM database that have been lost. If you want to get the pointers back you will need to do the following:

• First of all make a current backup of the TSM database so that you do not lose the most current information.
• And then restore the TSM database before expiration ran. Run the restore.
• After that restore the TSM database with the current database backup.
