I own a HP duplex laser printer with scanner, and I have to manually flip over the pages everytime I print. I cannot set the Printing On Both Sides option to Automatically. How can do so?

Your driver needs to realise that a duplex device is attached to the printer. The method is more or less the same for all Windows systems.

1. Go to ‘Printer Properties’.

2. On the dialog box, go to ‘Device Settings’ tab.

3. Under ‘Installable Options’, set duplex unit to ‘Installed’. If this doesn’t do the trick, there might be a problem with the driver. Reinstalling it might help.

Also make sure that you have selected the appropriate ‘Paper Size’ and ‘Paper Type’.

For some papers, printers don’t automatically duplex.

The ones supported mostly are: Paper Size – Letter, Legal, A4 Paper Type- Any type except Heavy, Extra heavy, Card, Transparent

NOTE: Exact constraints may differ from model to model.
