Does Linux affected by viruses but Linux OS are prone attacking by virus?

Are these systems require access installing and run viruses?

First, Linux is not 100% safe. There is no guarantee that it will not affected by the virus.  The possibility and rate is very low compare to any other operating system.

There is some reason behind this. Most of the Linux use for server and those people who maintain server know enough about security and all the people who use Linux for personal computer know what they are doing so this is a reason also. This system will require access installing.

 

The antivirus of most Linux software focuses on the removal of Windows viruses and will function as a one-time-scan tool rather than the Windows-style which is known as the sit-in-your-tray-and-protect-you products which is very common in Windows.

 

This software is not really essential for Linux users but they come pretty handy.

Since you are curious whether a Linux operating system can be infected by a virus or not, there is a simple answer to that. Why would programmers waste their time creating complicated codes just to infect an operating system that is less used?

The real purpose why a virus is created is to spread to as many users as possible to any location using any kind of media.

And then acquire vital personal information. If a virus would infect a system running Linux, the range of infection would be very less compared to Microsoft Windows and not much information will be collected so what’s the use. Besides this fact, the Linux source code is freely available allowing different users and developers to get their hand on the code.

So if this is the case, coders will really not make any attempt to infect it since they can even insert their own code to the operating system that easily. Even if Linux is very less targeted by viruses, this operating system can then again store Microsoft Windows virus executables without getting itself infected.
