Hi,
WIM=Windows IMaging is a compression format that was developed to be used after vista. To Convert follow these steps:
1. Download the Windows Automated Installation kit from the official windows site.
2. Make sure that the file from which you wish to make an ISO is located in the root c:/ directory. (Name it discovery.wim for ease of use) and then follow all the prompts to install the software
3. Open a Windows Preinstallation Environment and copy the WIM file into it; do so by typing "CopyPE <architecture> C:Winpe" to create the environment, then "Copy /y C:discover.wim c:WinpeISOSources" to copy the file into the environment.
4. Navigate back into the PETools folder by typing "Cd C:Program FilesWindows AIKToolsPETools.

Hi Jay,
To be able to convert wim to iso, you just have to do the following:Â
1. Download first the Windows Automated Installation Kit from microsoft.com/downloads.
2. You also have to make sure that the wim file is located on the root c:/directory.
3. Open a Windows Preinstallation Environment and copy the wim file into it. Type "CopyPE <architecture> C:Winpe" to create the environment, then "Copy /y c:discover.wim c:WinpeISOSources" to copy the file into the environment.
4. The next step is to navigate back into PETools by typing the command:Â "Cd C:Program FilesWindows AIKToolsPETools"
5. The final step is to type "Oscdimg -n -bc:winpeISObootetfsboot.com c:winpeISO c:<imagename>.iso". This will create an ISO image from the contents of the Preinstallation Environment.

I hope each step is clear. Good luck!
