Matlab 2009 VC Runtime issue

The problem is about usage of mat lab 2009a running on windows xp with service pack 2 installed.

When I try to run matlab, it shows the splash screen for some seconds and then shows the following error.

After that, the application automatically closed down. I tried re installing the matlab but all the efforts are in vain. The issue is still there with the new installation.

The same installation with the same cd was working fine on my friend computer who has comparatively lesser powered computer than mine. Mine is Intel core 2 due with 1 gb of ram where as he has simple Pentium iv processor with 1 gb of ram.

Any idea about the problem?

Matlab 2009 VC Runtime issue

Spider,

Are you using the /GR and /MD compiler switches? What version of Msvcrt.dll file are you using? If it is earlier than 7.0 you will not experience this problem. But using Msvcirt.dll 7.0.x or higher version will give you this error.

This kind of error is listed on the Microsoft's product "Applies to" section. They have created a supported "hofix system" for this issue. Just download it from the Microsoft's website. However, it is still subject for additional testing. If you think that you can wait for Microsoft's next update please do so or contact Microsoft Customer Service Support.
