I am using windows 7 on my system. recently I tried to install the trial version of AutoCAD civil 3d on my computer but every time I start the installation process, I am met with an error on the screen. The screenshot of the error is as follows:
The error reads:
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011
An error occurred during the installation of assembly
'FARO.LS,version="1.1.406.58",type="win32",processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1d23f5635ba800ab'''. Please refer to Help and Support for more information.
Can anyone please help me in fixing the issue? I'll be really grateful for your help and guidance.

It might have a conflict if you are using windows 7 64bit probably it may not install because of the compatibility that AutoCAD civil 3D 2011 is righter not accessible for 64bit operating system. Your choice could be look for an installer that is available for (x84) (x64) meaning both 64bit and 32bit can install the program or change your Operating system 64bit to a 32bit windows 7.

There can be multiple reasons of FARO installation failures. The most common one is the conflict caused by the antivirus software. You can try to deactivate the antivirus and then install the files.
If the problem still persists, then enable verbose logging for ‘Windows Installer by utilizing the instruction on Microsoft Support article.
Then with administrator privileges launch FARO package manually from the location given below.
SupportFaroSDKfaro_ls.msi
