Rumors and photos of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 have been circling over the Internet nowadays; claiming that the device will come in metal and plastic versions similar to the recent release of the Apple iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. The speculated screen size of this handset is expected to be 5.2-inch and there is an iris scanning that will distinguish the users even without the password. A mini version of S5 is also expected and the S5 Zoom. However, the release is still very far from being official. But the photos and speculations are multiplying almost every day.
What should you expect from the Galaxy S5?
Recently, Korea specified that the upcoming Galaxy S5 might contain unreceptive stylus functionality and the latest versions of the Air View which has been introduced on Galaxy Note 2 and the Air Gesture attributes. These will be available on both Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4 Phablet. Samsung is currently working on Synaptics for the stylus feature. Samsung gave the users the touch controller mechanisms on Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, and they are planning to enhance the sensitivity and accuracy of their newest Air View and Air Gesture.
Air View will let the users to view photos, emails and more through the S-Pen features. Just for the record, Air View has been present in the previous Galaxy S3, S4 and Note 3 and the Air Gesture were first introduced on the Galaxy S4. The Air Gesture feature will let the users to flip on their photos and other media files with just the wave of their hand. Both features will be improved and updated on the upcoming Galaxy S5.
Possibly, the new Galaxy phone will bring its users a 5.25-inch, 2,560×1440 AMOLED display, which gives sharpness, improved color performance and the new rate for a smooth video and animations. But speculations are suggesting that Samsung should forget their old AMOLED display to give way of the LCD panels and save money for the S5 production. Android 4.4 Kitkat will run on this device since this is the latest OS from Google. Additionally, there is the Touch Wiz interface on top and the screenshots appears to have the latest version appropriate for the handset.
Galaxy S5 rumors are suggested having a 16MP snapper camera. This is still unimpressive since Sony Xperia Z1 has a 20.7-Megapixels and Nokia Lumia with a 41-Megapixels camera. Reports say Galaxy S5 will have the same (OIS) Optical Image Stabilization similar to the LG G2.
Speculations about Samsung having the same Apple’s fingerprint scanner are not true. Since the official statement of Samsung on the Korean Times is stating that they are not yet developing such feature. However, a Samsung executive stated to Bloomberg regarding the eye scanning tech and according to them, “Many people are fanatical about iris recognition technology. We are studying the possibility.” So watch out for that and let’s see how it will work.
Galaxy S5 rumors are stating that it will run with a 64-bit A7 processor similar to the iPhone 5S. Samsung Galaxy S5 are expected to be a powerhouse of a phone, however, it will not match Apple’s iPhone 5S in terms of the processor. It appears to have a 4GB of RAM to operate the new technology inside. But there is some confusion on how much RAM the Galaxy S5 will have. Speculations are also pointing to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 Quad-Core chip and clocked at 2.5GHz with Adreno 330 CPU.
S5 will also run with 2,900mah battery and will feature a new type of Li-on battery that will give an additional 20% more energy storage. They might also include other charging support and might also feature the USB 3.0 port on it.
There are no accurate pricing details yet as all of these are just rumors and speculations. Lets us all wait for what Samsung will bring this time. Based on SamMobile, Galaxy S5 will be available after the launch of Galaxy S5 Mini and Galaxy S5 Zoom in May or June.
