Hi all, I am facing some problems right now. Our building is splitting in to two parts which have their own routers on both parts. The IP address of the first router is 192.168.9.255 and the second router is 192.168.11.255. Our NAS (Network-Attached Storage) server is running under Windows 2003 server hooked into the second router with IP address 192.168.11.21. All systems that are connected to the second router, are able to see NAS server and transfer with it even if the OS is Vista, X or Linux. But the Windows Vista computer hooked to the first router cannot...
Read moreHi, I have installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux that has VMware GSX Server 3. I don’t have any hardware at home to test the Windows Server 2003. The Virtual Machine will work well, but is there any difference from VMware Workstation with VMware Tools installed on Windows Server 2003. I am not getting good resolution and color with the virtual machine. What do I need to get a better display? My default login is in text format, can I enable graphical login? I have already tried VMware with X server session. I think I am missing something in the...
Read moreGood day to everyone! We are currently using Active Directory in our project and I’m learning it for the first time. In the previous project we search for persons using LDAP. If the person has a specific value for an attribute then he is capable of performing specific actions within the application. This above was quite easy, but now I have to setup an environment with Active Directory myself which I’m not quite familiar with. My goal is to make computer users log-in to Windows with their accounts which is considered as Windows user and group management, isn’t it?...
Read moreI’ve been using unRAID Server since Beta 5 and the AD combination works just fine (other than the periodic lost permissions). But due to some circumstances today, the server lost connection with AD and keeps getting this error in syslog whenever I try to get it to join:
"Jan 5 13:42:16 Tower logger: Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain 'XXXX-XXXX.COM' over rpc: Logon failure
Jan 5 13:42:24 Tower logger: Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain 'XXXX-XXXX.COM' over rpc: Logon failure

Read moreHi, my company is currently having problems with our unRAID Server 4.5.6 Pro.
Our company uses Active Directory and security models from AD.
The problem is, every time we restarted unRAID Server, and the server is not considered by the system as a member of the AD.
Before I can rejoin the AD, I have to go through the process of editing the file path: “etc/samba/smb-names.conf.”
And I had to manually set the work group to the name of our AD.
Else, I keep getting errors in the syslog and could not join the AD.
Can anyone tell me what to do to keep the...
Read moreHello guys! I’d like to ask you several questions regarding ejabberd and hopefully you can help me. My first question is, does ejabberd works with Single Sign-On (SSO)? Second, is it possible for me to transfer the log-in credentials from a user session to the client via automatic log-in (like in Spark using SSO)? Third, should I encrypt my LDAP-communication (currently only TLS is feasible)? Fourth, where are the user passwords stored (upon activating the checkbox “save password” in a client)? Lastly, what kind of client would function on a terminal-server? The client must have an encryption support, history,...
Read moreI’ve just upgraded my LDAP authentication module from 2.1.5 to 2.1.6 and in log window, I observed a strange behavior of the said app. Before, upgrading to 2.1.6, auth_ldap can get information only in {ldap_servers}, but in my current version ejab start contacting sub domain controllers which makes nearly DOS. Besides, whenever a user tries to log-in, ejab starts connecting to all DC controller, including no defined domains, even if they’re restricted to managing sub domains only. If you have more than 20 DC with weak support system and X000 users logging in at the same time, this will...
Read moreI’m trying to repair a corrupted Outlook 2007 using Scanpst.exe file. I’ve tried running it for 3 consecutive times and then detecting errors and repairing the file at the same time. I plan to do this until Scanpst can detect no errors, which might result positive outputs in the past. However, on the 4th run, Scanpst reported several errors were found but there were no options to repair the file, and the backup file selection was grayed out. The only available selection was to press “OK” which simply results to the exiting of the Scanpst without repairing anything. I’ve...
