How to speed up an old system running Windows XP?

My daughter has acquired my old computer which has been in the family for 8 years. It is a branded IBM computer installed with Windows XP and runs on a Pentium 4 system.

The desktop has very little memory – 128 Mb and a 40 gigabyte hard-drive space. I have tried to purchase additional memory for the computer but unfortunately, I was not successful in finding one that is compatible with the motherboard. Cannot connect to the Internet

Please help! I am working on my computer to be online for almost a week. You can say I have tried everything on my system and even reinstalling the windows but still the same. I rechecked the drivers and all are properly installed. I am thinking that the NIC port of my computer is shot but the link light on the computer and modem are normal.

Networking issues on using Linux

I am trying new Xfce RC but there are following issues: 

One is printer related other is thunar related.

I am using a USB printer which is connected to NAS box but ADD PRINTER not working when i click on it.

So the question is,

Pl tell the way to access printer?

Second, I want to access Network storage drives but NETWORK is not listed in a tuner device list.

So Question are,

Turner does not have similar default function for accessing network devices?

Thunar also not able to add hard drives when i boot it from USB?

But so far I did not look at whether it is problem related to O.S or Directory tool.

System Restore could not run completely

My computer was infected by a Trojan virus which damaged my explorer. I'm trying to restore my previous settings with the use of my Windows Vista SP2's built-in System Restore. But every time I run it, it gives me the same error message:

"System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed. Unspecified error 80070002. The system could not find the file specified"

Getting a database connection error in EJB project

Inserting New Column in a Table at MySQL

I have a Database at my store. Unfortunately, I want to add new column to one of my tables. What I am thinking is to use the command DELETE TABLE and replace it with a new one but I want to save time editing and filling again the data.
