I want to install a Linux virtual machine on my computer which runs on Windows operating system (OS) but I do not know how to go about it. I am also not sure this can be done. What I would like to know is can I install a Linux virtual machine on a Windows OS? If yes, how do I go about installing the Linux virtual machine on Windows? Do I have to partition the hard drive first and install a Linux OS before installing the Linux virtual machine or there is no need to do so?

Please help me with some information on virtual machines. I would be very grateful if you can please explain why people install virtual machines on their computing systems. What is the main purpose of running a virtual machine? What particular tasks are virtual machines efficient at accomplishing? What are the benefits of using a virtual machine?

I have a Lenovo Y50-70 laptop with genuine Windows 8.1 OS. All of a sudden I am not able to run several programs. All of them show a same error "C:windowsSYSTEM32WININET.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error." I don’t know what exactly happened all of a sudden. I am trying to connect my Xbox One with my TV without the help of a Cable Box. As I don’t have a Cable Box, I am trying to bypass it with alternative converter. I am getting an error “Windows cannot be installed because of GPT Partition Type” while trying to dual boot Win10 with my current OS Win7. My C drive is shrunk by 80,000 MB volume and custom install option is selected to install Windows 10. But when I selected the drive and then selected new to create the partition I receive this error. I need someone to kindly assist me for the same.

I am planning to sell my iPhone. Before that I would like to transfer all the text messages in my phone to my computer.
