I have a home office and I am wondering if having a scanner is necessary?  I am thinking that with a phone, I should be able to take a picture and save the document after emailing it to myself?  Does anyone else utilize this type of technology? I would hate to go buy a scanner if not necessary, or is that the recommended route?  Thank you.

I was sent a photo in a .pi file and I am looking to see if I can edit it without purchasing more software. I need to get it into a format where I can use it for posting, editing, and other files. I was going to ask the sender to change the format, but I'd prefer if I can find a resolution on my own. Is the only way to do this to purchase more software? Adobe is asking me to buy something else but I am wondering if there is a way around it? Thanks.

Hello, my question is in regards to web cams.  I currently have one set up on my laptop, and I am wondering if there is any possibility of accessing it remotely?  I know there are concerns with viruses and their ability to do this, but I am just looking for a way to see my home for security while I am away.  I'm not looking for anything fancy, just an ability to access it.  Thank you.

I often take my laptop to a public wi-fi for use, and I connect through my VPN.  However, I often get kicked off or disconnected, making it difficult to accomplish any real work.  I do not have this issue when I connect with my home wi-fi.  Is there a different standard of connection with public wi-fi versus the wi-fi I use at home?  Do I need to utilize another system to connect?  Thank you.

I think my hard drive has died and the laptop will not boot up at all. To check the machine I was wanting to boot the computer off of a SD card. Is this a option that will help me run a check on the machine to see what the problem is?

I am getting error code 3: 0x80040154 -- system level when trying to update Google Chrome. It says something about changing values in regedit. But I have no idea how to do that. It also wants it done by admin and I should be already set up as that. Any ideas how to fix?

I can not get the screen to show anything when I turn it on. When I connect it to my laptop it can see it and will access it. But no matter what I try it will not display anything on screen. And there is no sound when it comes on. Suggestions on how to fix this?

Is it true that you need to unplug your PC and leave it off for several days before cleaning it?  I smoke so my system gets really dirty and needs a good cleaning. Is this what I should do first and how many days should it be left completely off?

I just updated my card with a Asus GTX 970 Strix Mobo: ASRock Z97 Extreme 6. Everything seems to be working except my screen is completely black. Is this a defective graphic card? Or a bad installation that I messed up? Should I pull it out and try it again?

I think I picked up a nasty  virus called Ads by Positive Finds. It is stealing my data. Plus freezing up my whole system. I have tried every program but nothing is getting rid of it. Do I need to wipe my system clean or is there a way to get rid of this?
