I am facing a problem since last few days while connecting to internet. My system takes a lot of time while it searches for an IP. I have asked few people and came to know that it is a problem related to DHCP. This is a relatively new term for me. Is this relates to any issue with the system. I am using a dial up connection. Can somebody please help in resolving this issue?

I am working on Windows 8 system and facing lot of issues with my system performance. I have tried a lot of time to use cleanup activities to tackle this, but unable to solve this issue. I have searched on internet that there are many services that get loaded while system start up and which are actually not used on daily basis. I think that these services are my basic problem. Can somebody guide me on which services should I permanently delete?

Can someone give me verified tool that someone has used which can help me to monitor System temperature along with memory usage information? It will be good if it can provide disk information and can also have battery manager utilities. Please suggest.

What is Glass2K option? I have heard that it is related to Windows XP, but have no idea what it is about. Also I have heard about its relativity with transparency. Does it deal with the problem of seeing other application while still working on one? There was already an existing concept of hiding the files, and then what is different in this new super hidden system file. Does it deal with only system file? Yesterday I came to know that one can change the look and feel of start menu of windows XP. This was something new to me, I have not heard about such stuff. Is it really possible? I want to add few internet links to my start menu. I know we have bookmark options to bookmark a page or site, but I just want to try this for an experiment purpose. Can this be done easily? I am trying to create my own boot screen while system starts up. I downloaded few files from internet to do, but while replacing the windows 7 icon with the new image, system gave me an error. I do not remember the full path or the message, but it said something like message kernel missing or corrupted. While replacing the file, I made it sure that I am using a file that is compatible with my operating system version, still it did not work. Please help.
