Alexa is a variation of Artificial Intelligence developed by the famous Amazon based on cloud-based voice service. Alexa is the most popular technology of AI which have made our life easier and is highly in demand. It uses different mechanisms of AI, such as voice assistant, natural language processing, machine learning, etc. It is use to perform multiple activities such as voice recognition, playing music, google assistant, provide information based on your voice command. It makes our life easier and more comfortable and saves us. We build, connect, and integrate voices and messages through Alexa. Alexa helps in language translation, voice recognition, natural language processing, playing music on Spotify, playing games etc. It also perform household activities by recognizing the command, such as switching off the fans, unlocking the car, door and other tasks to provide comfort.
1. Auto Deletion Of Voice Commands
It is the latest feature in Alexa. According to this feature, after an interval of 6 to 18 months, the voice commands will be auto-deleted by this technology. One can delete it even by passing the command “Delete everything” or “Delete this portion of the command. ” Amazon added this feature to secure privacy concerns so that they avoid criticism which they faced a few years ago.
2. Text To Speech Translation
Alexa has introduced feature of live translation using the applications of Deep Learning. This feature helps to establish communication between us so that no one will face any medium barrier. It converts Neural text to Speech form, improving the adaptability of Alexa. It also adds different languages, such as Hindi, English, French, etc, making Alexa more expressive like humans.
3. Smart Home Control Tool
Alexa is used as an innovative home control tool. It processes multiple smart home requests simultaneously. It even tries to identify whether a voice command does not match specific device names and spaces. To solve this discrepancy, the next generation of Alexa is introduced, which enables Alexa to process and solve the ambiguity. For example, saying, “Alexa, Turn off the bedroom AC” would prompt Alexa to dim the lights. This will trigger multiple simultaneous actions while understanding the exception of keeping the bedroom AC on.
4. Alexa Emergency Assistant
This feature of Alexa helps and saves people in times of emergency. This feature of Alexa provides emergency support and guidance to the people. It offers fast access to information through Emergency Assistance with the help of an Echo device. Alexa offers extended-time support for users without much expense and is considered a free safety service device. Alexa has introduced Alexa Guard and Guard Plus to improve emergency exit.
5. Splash
Alexa has introduced new feature named Splash to compete with the latest technologies, such as Sophia, Sirrie, Atlas, etc, developed using AI and Ml algorithms. Alexa is used as a splash tool to create original lyrics of music by using your voice command, which describes the features of your music that you want to develop. This enables Alexa to make new, creative, and customized music by adding different features, such as setting the pitch, adding meaningful lyrics, or switching up genres.
6. Alexa Guard
Alexa Guard is another enhanced feature introduced to Alexa that helps guard our home security. In case of any danger such as sounds of smoke alarm, glass breaking, control bright light. The safety-enabled device alerts you by notifying you. It not only alerts us about the problem but also provides solution, to the problem. When we activate Alexa Guard, it detects sounds, sends alerts, and monitors your house using voice commands. It aims to integrate home security and reliability.
7. Give Nutrition Tips
Alexa also gives nutrients and health-related tips based on the questions asked by the user. Alexa stores information about the food that one should eat to stay healthy. It also suggests what to eat as a meal which can make you stay healthy and happy. Alexa offers some generic advice related to food and nutrients. Alexa can differentiate between healthy and junk food and tells you about the food that is highly rich in fat and carbohydrates. It also provides instructions for how to cook low calorie food by giving the receipes.
8. Turn Lights Off
Alexa can assist in putting off the lights even if one is not in the room. Through voice command, “Alexa, put the lights off.” and within no time, it will respond to your command. Alexa is sensitive towards various light devices, and it will only be compatible with the fair system. It will obey your command, or you need to change the Bulb or LED. You can also specify some time, for putting the lights off to Alexa, and then you need not give commands repeatedly daily. Once scheduled, it will automatically switch off the lights at that particular time.
9. Alexa App
Alexa app is the latest enhanced feature of Alexa introduced by Amazon. It allows users to interact and implement features of Alexa by enabling it through the app. Users can allow the app’s features by connecting it through the speakers, thermostats, etc. It can add extra functionalities to Alexa such as playing games, listening news and control devices. We also send messages, make calls, enable Alexa Guard features, and create and manage lists. It customizes voice control and can be a smart home control tool.
10. Natural Turn Taking
The new feature introduced in Alexa is smart speakers by Amazon to improve the ability to involve in natural turn-taking interactions. It was based on pre programmed interaction to improve Alexa’s ability to understand context of natural language processing making it more conversational. It aims to be involved in human-like conversations and produce sound output. It uses acoustic cues that will help in speech recognition and can distinguish between machine and human pitch. We use these cues to provide visual information to the user.
